I'm so thrilled to be sharing my new Threadville doodles now...

My old ones were so bad, to be honest HJDSJK but I'm happy with the way I draw Oliver now!

He's such a silly guy to draw..

I’m not fully sure yet if I want it to have an “ARG” vibe to it. I think that’s what I’m gonna end up going for at the end? reworking her for the ten millionth time yay 💜

initial rework brainstorming and other rambles below the cut

i really wanna try to work out a concrete concept for what her mind would be like, but i am uh. not a level designer. so it’s been kind of a struggle. but i��ve been imagining that her mind would be an early level in a hypothetical pn3, which would take place not super long after pn2 (maybe a few months to a year?). a lot of the game, especially early on, would center around raz learning to use hydrokinesis in different ways and become more comfortable with it. like he still isn’t confident enough to touch it (so as not to make boundaries for platforming more complicated), but he’s gotten to a point where he can begin learning to control it from afar. so maybe, in esther’s mind, there’d be a series of birds who have had their eyes covered in some way, and raz has to use hydrokinesis to wash those coverings away?

i’d want the core gameplay of the level to be based around actual techniques used in exposure therapy, so it’d start with uncovering the eyes on a picture of a bird, then on a toy bird, then an actual bird, slowly making your way up in order to make esther more comfortable in gradual stages. each one would also have an association with something that caused her phobia in the first place, although i don’t have those details ironed out too well. and obviously you wouldn’t be able to cure her phobia completely, but it’d be enough to give her a boost, hopefully enough to help her be comfortable leaving the house for the first time in, like. at least two years, maybe longer. and there’s also fun parallels there with raz’s aquaphobia, could help him get a better grasp on how to handle his own journey with learning to feel safe around water :)

PUPPET OCS RAAAAHHHHHH

The first, colorful puppet is Detective squirt 😼

His real name is Fuzzlebun Hickles, one of the first few puppet detectives AND police officers in the country. He's a major nervous wreck but is extremely intelligent. He's also got an adopted daughter!

The second one is dally worm, a mute 12 year old caterpillar who's... Seemingly an orphan. Mysterious and lonely, all they can do is follow the people around them
